Job Description:

Expense Management

 

Team Objectives:

 

Given below are the broad objectives of the entire team. Each band of FTE has a different role to perform and hence the skills and competency requirements are different for each role.

  • Complete expense accrual journal entries in adherence with Finance Policies
  • Complete expense allocation, chargeback and other standard journal entries in adherence with Finance Policies
  • Prepare and review monthly reconciliations in adherence with Finance Policies
  • Complete month / quarter / year end closing activities, reporting, adjustments etc
  • Complete expense reporting activities
  • Liaise with respective business units for queries, seeking information / details relevant for financial preparation
  • Evaluate / review audit queries, discuss with respective business units and provide resolution
  • Liaise with Group auditors for any queries / information required and resolve in a timebound manner

3-8 years within Finance and Accounting BPO, accounting practice or finance department of commercial organization

10+ years within Finance and Accounting BPO, accounting practice or finance department of commercial organization

Accounting knowledge and skills

·    Basic understanding of accounting principles

·    Advanced understanding of accounting principles

·    Should be able to provide domain support to team members

·    Should be able to understand the effects of Journal Entry adjustments

·    Expert understanding of accounting principles

·    Should be able to mentor and guide the team on regular basis

F&A Domain skills

·    Responsible for executing processes based on written instructions with some level of subject matter expertise.

·    Transaction based activities include verifying for accuracy and completeness, data validations, reconciliations, posting, and preparing output (expense reports, statements, management reports).

·    Responsible for executing complex processes that involve greater subjective thinking

·    Transaction based activities and processing are at a much higher volume of transactions than lower level staff

·    Responsible for managing the day-to-day workload and first-level process escalation, and reviews processes for accuracy and timeliness. 

·    Ability to provide strategic guidance and support to the overall team

·    Responsible for the planning and execution of overall operations

·    Ensures project success by identifying and minimizing risks throughout the project lifecycle so that schedule and budgetary compliance is achieved.
